Introduction

We live in turbulent times, and in times of crisis it is culture that connects us. A nation is defined by its history and the cultural heritage it shares. This is one of the reasons why recently, on top of all the human tragedy, cultural heritage has become a military target. This makes our task of photographically and digitally recording it even more crucial. There are many initiatives, such as those of our conference partner Cultural Emergency Response, but also from cultural institutions and museums around the world. These and many other topics will be covered during the fifth live edition of 2and3D Photography 2026.
