Introduction

Much has happened since the last time we were together in 2019. In the first months of 2020 the world came to a squeaking halt because of the Corona pandemic. That was when preparations for our fourth 2and3D Photography 2021 conference were just getting started and we immediately decided to cancel the live edition. Instead, we held online editions of the conference in 2021 and in 2022. Despite how adept we have become at organizing online editions in recent years, nothing beats meeting up with each other without the intrusion of a screen. The fourth live edition of 2and3D Photography 2024 was again a success. It was a pleasure to welcome colleagues from across the world for three days filled with heritage photography, innovation and good conversations.
